The new operating theatre centre of the General Hospital of Krefeld with its compact ground plan is a high-tech building with 18 operating theatres along with the zones and rooms that belong to it extending across two-storeys, whereby great emphasis was placed upon the efficient use of space and short distances between the individual rooms.
