Belvedere Residence

Location: San Francisco. United States Year of construction: 2000 Architect: Cass CaUer Smith Photography: Roger Casas

Designed as the main home for a family of five, this project is a complete renovation of a two- story residence located right next to the bay, in between the street and the water.

An axis leads to the house, pierces through the two-story central hall and continues to the bay as a dock. This axial organization revolves round the central hall, flanked by the living-dining area on one side and the kitchen and family room on the other. Both sections have identical openings, setting up connections with the landscape and water. The interior is a restrained palette of white walls, limestone floors, natural wood and steel.
