The Hofburgsky collection of ancient tools (Sammlung alter Musikinstrumente) can be called the unique.
Not including traditional known samples such artefacts which to me earlier it was not necessary to create here are exposed: орфика, рейсеклавикорд, чембало, harmony, органиструм. "Voices" of many tools have been written down and were lost in special earphones. I managed to receive reminiscence of sounding of the most rare copies.
In this museum there is a lot of rarities. Edison’s real phonograph is exposed near his "cartridges" or "disks" – rollers on which the 1st sound tracks were written. We have beheld the bodies made by the Vienna masters, the pianos decorated by a remarkable carving, harpsichords with a gold stamping, grand pianos with fine furnish.

In halls of a museum we were expected by history of music of the XVI-XX centuries. On show-windows and boards – various flutes, pipes, other wind instruments. We have tracked evolution of bow instruments: from ancient anonymous samples – to usual violins and violas, elegant violoncellos, a giant contrabass.
Certain from instruments of museum meeting were never used, but on others stately maestros of a past – Wagner, Haydn, Schubert were played.
