An extension was required which looks like a continuation of the existing structure, rather than a new development. A new setback creates a terrace that gives access to the building. The entrance is a generous opening in the facade at the |uncture of the existing town hall with the extension. |

The building takes full advantage of the plot of land, to maximise the view of the alps. The building form is a result of the subtle mam – pulation of a simple volume, transformed to a wooden sculpture. Depending on the vantage point, the monolithic structure is at once, light and narrow, then wide, and heavy.
