This striking building is deeply rooted in Dresden’s awful history. The original synagogue on the site designed by Gottfried Semper – was burned down in the Kristallnacht of 1938 The new building pays respect to these events – it is built on the original site, with the new structure twisting upwards as it rises, looking into the future. |
