The architecture of the museum is symbolic of the lives of the millions who emigrated from Europe. The outer shell is a curved exposed concrete surface covering 1.280m*; the facade consists of horizontally arranged larchwood slats. The museum encompasses an area of 4,200m – with the permanent exhibition area, special exhibition rooms and the foyer with cafe/restaurant accounting for a total 3,500 m’
