MALAPARTE PATIOS

This project is called Malaparte Patios. In most parts of the realized urban plan, blocks with patios replaced The empty sections In Uytenhaak’s scheme, by combining the lamella structure arid the patio concept, a surprisingly new typology was developed, allowing a very high density of 200 houses per hectare.

The reception and offices are situated on the ground floor, the second floor accommodates canteen and information centre The design expresses the importance of water in several ways The pond on the ground floor is interwoven with the building.

The small plot demands a diagonal strategy for the building and parking facilities. Here, however, parking was turned into showing. Therefore the building is seen as a showroom with shiny red vehicles for interested passers-by Since the roof is visible from the tall buildings around it. it is designed like a fifth facade.
